Showing the texture on my cold wax paintings.

Image
This spring and summer have been pretty difficult family wise. Both our Moms passed away this year. The events surrounding their passing and closing out their estates have created havoc with my drive to paint. I look forward to getting back in the studio and continuing this series of landscapes. I took a couple of better pictures of one of my cold wax and oil abstract landscapes. I wanted to be able to show the texture better than a full shot of the painting allows.  Here is the full painting. Autumn is here!

There was frost on my garage roof this morning. Frost on the roof is OK. But when it is on my flowers then I know I will have fewer days to get outside to paint. I have been collaborating with a friend, Steven Weagel, to create these unique art pieces.  My oil and cold painting with his steel sculptural frames. Sold This is the painting that was framed with Steven Weagel's sculptural frame.  The colors in this photo are more true than the photo above. Another painting that I collaborated with Steven on.  No photo to show it with the frame. Sold "Fiery Spirit," Oil and cold wax painting that was sold before I even used it for a show, "Seeing God," at the St. Benedict Monastery,  where it received an Honorable Mention. An example of my earliest work with cold wax and oil.
